 Not so great picture quality but better than most is low light January 6, 2009
This camera has mediocre color. Has an unnatural green tint compared to my other 2 cameras. However, in very low light conditions it had the best picture quality. If you do not need a camera for low light conditions, I'd probably get something else that has more natural color. Mine also had a handful of pixels that were dead. For the price the camera is okay but the greenish tint is a bit annoying. The room I am in uses CF bulbs. Have not tried it in natural light or daylight.

This webcam is truly plug and play with the Xbox 360 and my Windows Vista computer. The quality on this camera is amazing for the price. I frequently use the camera to video conference with family on the west coast.
However, as any photographer knows. lighting is critical. If you use this camera with only backlighting, there will be some quality issues. Overhead lighting or frontal lighting mitigates or eliminates all issues. Whatever you do, avoid open and bright sunlit windows behind you when using the camera (or any camera for that matter). Even if you just place a small lamp next to or in front of the subject, your video will be greatly improved.

Inexpensive and easy to use with Skype (I am a Mac). I literally plugged it in and could use it immediately. I do not see it on my HD, but Skype recognized it without any additional software downloads. Image quality is decent, albeit variable with light and not super quick, but for the price and the limited options for a Mac, I am a satisfied customer.
Basic camera September 15, 2008
This camera is good as a basic camera and comes with the Xbox 360 Live Vision Camera, a headset, and 1 month of Xbox Live Gold service.
Quality of picture and video is adequate for casual social interaction and the camera is easy to install. Since my family lives on both coasts, I like how the video chat helps bring the distance closer. Having the receiving sound on both the headset and tv speakers is a great option, because it allows the rest of the room to hear the rest of the conversation, so you are not doing double duty of conversant and middeman relaying the message.
